Kavousanos is a family run with self catering accomodation. We also have our restaurant which serves Greek and International cuisine. We have 7 Apartments which have 2 double rooms, (1 with twin bed and 1 with a double bed), with a bed settee in the kitchen dinner area. There are also 2 studios, with twin beds, which sleep 2 people.

Our accomodation has kitchen, fridge, tv, air coditioning and safety deposit box. The studios have shower / wc. The apartments are with bath / shower and wc.

The quiet area of Kalo Chorio (Istron) is situated in the Gulf of Mirabello along the North Coast road, 10Km South-east of Agios Nikolaos. The old village of kalo chorio itself stands againsts the hillside, neslting amongst olive, lemon and orange groves, surrounded by mediterranean shrubs.

There are many places to walk, either through the mountains or coast line. Accomodation is situated in the Istron area, so named after the ancient town of Istrona on which it sits, making the land close to the sea an unspoilt conservation area. There are 3 beaches to choose from, the 1st being a 15 minute walk from Kavousanos apartments.

The resort itself has several local run tavernas, bars and shops with a regular bus service to Agios Nikolaos, with connections to different parts of the island.

Car hire is recommended and can be pre booked with us. There are many places to visit, including the site of Knossos Palace, Sitia & the famous Vai beach, Lassithi Plateau many archaeoological sites, Spinalonga and Plaka, which is more recently well known after the novel “The Island” by Victoria Hislop was released, which was written about this area.

    The area of Istron and Agios Nikolaos is very beautiful! We make our holidays in this area for the last 3-4 years and we enjoy every trip around the traditional villages. The beaches are incredible and very clean.. What else should somebody ask for a relaxing period of 10-14 days..

    We have been staying in the Kavousanos Appartments for the last 10 years. We go back every year, The kavousanos family welcome you all the time. The appartments are very clean and tidy. The food is always good and they have a wide range to choose from, Greek or English. They have a lovely pool with sunbeds. I would higly recommend this to anyone.
