Pefki Gorge in Makrigialos.Gorges and Hiking in eastern Crete. Holidays and accommodation in east Crete

A small gorge at the south coast of Crete between Pefki village and the touristic resort of Makri Gialos. The best way to start walking the gorge is from Pefki village, which is 7 kms far from Makri Gialos. There is a clear-sighted path. The only difficulty you may face is to be informed by the inhabitants of Pefki village for the exact entrance of the gorge.

In the beginning the path does not lead you in the gorge, but over it lenthways. After you walk for about 700-800 meters, the path shelves until it leads to the bottom of the gorge.

Its beauty is unique, because it is located in a pine forest and the green colour of the pine will be in front of your eyes as you are walking through the gorge. The wonderful landscape in combination with the sharp rocks undertake you in a pleasant walk through the gorge.

The morphology of this gorge differs radically from the other known gorges of eastern Crete
