Gorges and Hiking in Eastern Crete

Adravasti Gorge in Palekastro

4 kms,  3-2,5 hours approx from Karidi or Vrisidi with finishing near the village Adravasti.  There is not a footpath - difficult passage!

It is the most unknown gorge of Palekastro region.

Its exit is just 1 km north from Adravasti village or 3 kms away from Zakros.

There are two ways to cross it. The one is from Karidi village and the other one is from Vrisidi or Magassa settlement. The quickest way to reach Karydi village is a new asphalt road that starts from Adravasti village.

At the beginning the mountains create various basins, which slowly turn out to be a wonderful, but really rough gorge. There is not a path and you need to be very careful. At the same time you need to be in a very good physical condition to attempt it. You can pass it only by walking through the basin of the gorge.
