Route 12: Kato Zakros - Xerokambos .Hiking and nature in east Crete.

Kato Zakros - Xerokampos

The route starts from the southern point of the beach of Kato Zakros. For information please contact the local tavernas, to provide orientation to the starting point. Initially we walk for about 50 meters by the sea and over the rocks.

Soon we will be at the point where you must turn south, following carefully the red marks on the rocks. For 20 minutes the path is not visible, since forms on a rocky and rugged landscape. For this reason, we will need appropriate shoes for rocky ground.

Immediately following the path begins to be clarifying and as we are directed to the south, we don’t encounter any obstacle all the way to the settlement of Xerokampos. The route is spectacular and takes not more than 2.5 hours. You will always be accompanied by the view of blue sea to the east and to the rocky and "hard» landscape of eastern Crete to the west.
